Rue des Gravilliers

A loft with a mezzanine, on the ground floor and opening onto a courtyard, in the middle of the third arrondissement. This is a busy, layered part of Paris where the Haut-Marais meets the old craft streets around Arts et Métiers, and there is something worth stopping for on almost every corner. It sleeps six, which makes it one of the few addresses here that suits a family or a group.

Inside

The lower level is one open living space with two sofa beds, an open fitted kitchen and the bathroom. A staircase leads up to the mezzanine, lit by its own glass roof, where a third sofa bed makes a quieter place to sleep above the living area. There is no separate bedroom: this is a loft, and the three sofa beds are what it sleeps six on. Wi-fi is fast throughout.

The neighbourhood

Rue des Gravilliers sits just north of the Marais proper, in the stretch of the third arrondissement that has kept its workshops and wholesalers alongside newer galleries and restaurants. The medieval streets, museums and shops of the Marais begin a few minutes' walk south.

Getting around

Arts et Métiers (line 3, and line 11 for its remarkable copper-clad platforms) is the nearest station, a short walk away. République is also walkable and connects to lines 3, 5, 8, 9 and 11, which reaches most of the city without a change.

Parking

Nearest car park: Parking Temple (Interparking) — 132 Rue du Temple, 75003, about 8-10 min on foot. Public garages nearby charge around 28–45 € per 24 hours. There is no private parking at the building, and street parking in central Paris is limited and charged.
